Today's Pick? Having never supped at the Nitehawk Cinema beyond its normally exceptional daily menu, and even then not much further than the tater tots n' root beer (yeah, they're that good!), I've been meaning to indulge in their excellent Film Feasts series, whereby (as per the Nitehawk's description) breweries, wineries, cocktail specialists and/or guest chefs partner up with the venue to offer multi-course drink and dinner specials that are specifically designed to pair with that evening's screening. Thankfully tonight's program, the new holiday classic A CHRISTMAS STORY, inspired no dish based on the pole licking scene. Ditto the soap scolding. The menu can be found here, and it looks to be a doozy. Yeah, it might cost a little extra than your usual movie ticket, but show me another theater that offers bacon-wrapped meatloaf and Ovaltinis as part of their viewing experience. Anybody? Anyone?
That's what I thought. Pony up, ya bastidz. It's Christmastime, after all. Ralphie needs a new Red Ryder.
For more info on these and all NYC's classic screenings in the last month of 2013 click on the interactive calendar on the upper right hand side of the page. And be sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter! Back tomorrow with a new Pick, til then do your best to stay on Santa's Nice list and recommend the other kids do likewise. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
