Today's Pick? One could do worse than take up a day's residence at either MoMA for their Vienna Unveiled trip bill or Film Forum for a quartet of Tha Mahstah's best. And the occasion of a new work from recently retired/unretired master animator Hayao Miyazaki (THE WIND RISES) is always reason enough to revisit one of his earlier classics. Today, however, belongs to Chaplin; the entirety of 2014 actually, this being the celebratory centenary of his beloved Little Tramp. And who better, asks moi, to laud this genius and his immortal creation than those stalwarts of soundless cinema The Silent Clowns, who today choose to present Chaplin's first steps into the celluloid world with their CHAPLIN AT KEYSTONE unspooling? The accompanying tickling of the ivories will again be provided by maestro Ben Model. Showtime is 2:30pm at Lincoln Center's Library for the Performing Arts. Attendance is free but seats are sure to fill up quick, so get there early. BYOBS*.

P. S. Should you be feeling charitable during this harsh weather period please remember to check in with the good folks over at Occupy Sandy. Some of our NY neighbors are still feeling the effects of last year's hurricane. Be a mensch.
