Today's Pick? I can think of no better punishment for one's decadence than nursing a hangover to the films of Rainer Werner Fassbinder. He'd be pleased to know such self-inflicted malady thrives still in this world. So I'm going wth the trifecta at Lincoln Center's Film Society, part of the series Fassbinder: Romantic Anarchist, Part Two; the Volker Schlöndorff-helmed BAAL, and the subsequent unspoolings of Fassbinder's own FOX AND HIS FRIENDS and DESPAIR. All three can be had for a modestly priced multi-film pass, so aside from a deep haunting sense of specifically American puritanical shame, I can't imagine why you'd pass this Sunday Funday enterprise up. Not a smoker, maybe?

P. S. We're swiftly returning to the winter climate, and believe it or not some of our fellow NY'ers have still yet to be made whole in the wake of the 2012 storm. Should you be feeling charitable please visit the folks at OccupySandy.net, follow their hammer-in-hand efforts to restore people's lives, and donate/volunteer if you have the inclination and availability.
