February 13th 2015. Pick of the day.

New York City's premiere resource for classic film screenings in the metropolitan area. Offering reviews, recommendations, venues and a host of links keeping classic film and the silver screens alive.

New and continuing series this day include Screwball Romance at IFC Center, the Laughton and Boorman tribs at Film Forum, Acteurism: Ginger Rogers at MoMA, John Carpenter: Master of Fear at BAM Cinématek, the annual Valentine's Day Massacre at Anthology Film Archives, and the eternally swank Cabaret Cinema at the Rubin Museum. Today's Pick? I'm cuttin' to the chase: it's been quite some time since I've had the pleasure of helping place focus on early Peter Weir, and months since I've had the opportunity to sing the praises of the Rubin Museum's ace efforts. Here I get the opportunity to shower praise upon both.

Peter Weir's PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK screens at the Rubin Museum as part of their exceptional series Cabaret Cinema. Happy to have it back.
