Top o' tha morn ta yaz! I hope today's celebration of all things Emerald Isle and the punishing amount of booze a human may intake finds you in good health and spirits. Onus on the latter. Continuing series this day are limited to the Wim Wenders mani/pedi at MoMA, and Black & White 'Scope: American Cinema at BAM. The Bell & Howell blarney be thus;

Film Forum

THE TALES OF HOFFMAN (1951) Dirs; Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger

MoMA

Wim Wenders

ALICE IN THE CITIES (1974) Dir; Wim Wenders

BAM Cinématek

Black & White 'Scope: American Cinema

THE THREE FACES OF EVE (1957) Dir; Nunnally Johnson

Nitehawk Cinema

LEPRECHAUN (1993) Dir; Mark Jones

Today's Pick? Éire forgive me, my forbears from Kingdom Kerry preserve me, it's Mark Jones' LEPRECHAUN at the Nitehawk Cinema. Why? Because it's called LEPRECHAUN fer chrissakes! Plus, you can order a stout during the screening. What could be more appropriate, measks?

Well, whaddaya want from me, it's not like anybody programmed THE fucking QUIET MAN today! And some might argue the 1993 film is LESS of an insult to the Irish heritage than the 1952 film. They'd be wrong of course, but, hold on now! What's that you said about me cousin Aloysius? I've a mind ta pay you a visit with my friends, Iron and Dynamite! Say that one more time oh the hell with it! I'm going out for a Guinness! And I don't mean a film starring Alec!

P. S. We're mercifully feeling the loosening of winter's embrace, but believe it or not some of our fellow NY'ers have still yet to be made whole in the wake of the 2012 storm. Should you be feeling charitable please visit the folks at OccupySandy.net, follow their hammer-in-hand efforts to restore people's lives, and donate/volunteer if you have the inclination and availability. Be a collective mensch, Stockahz!
