Today's Pick? I've held off on selecting this series until the Queen of the Película Negra was fully fêted, and today she fittingly closes the program out. What better way for a femme fatale to reward her spell-cast than to provide their finale? Dear lord what we forgive of wicked dames worldwide. Gleefully.

The darkly luminous Mariá Félix headlines two ace potboilers, Tito Davison's MAY GOD FORGIVE ME and Julio Bracho's ANOTHER DAWN , the closing entries in MoMA's essential series Mexico at Midnight: Film Noir from Mexican Cinema's Golden Age. I know yer Ma told ya never to fiddle with broads like this. While that advice might be sound, practical and solvent, ignore it at all costs and nestle into MoMA's darkness today.

P. S. The warm cuddle of the sun's friendlier disposition seems finally to have arrived, but believe it or not some of our fellow NY'ers have still yet to be made whole in the wake of the 2012 storm. Should you be feeling charitable please visit the folks at OccupySandy.net, follow their hammer-in-hand efforts to restore people's lives, and donate/volunteer if you have the inclination and availability. Be a collective mensch, Stockahz!
