Today's Pick? What possible other choice could there be on this rep film calendar? The seminal thinkin'-cat's gabfest that spawned an entire sub-sub-sub-genre, the tete-a-tete twixt fellow actor/writer/directors and friends Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory, clears the field today and firmly clasps the brass ring on a day that NAH I can't keep it up any longer!!! Of course I'm goin' with the Price & Poe pas-de-deux! Suck it, pretentiousness! Actually I love Malle's work and this film in particular, and agree regarding its ranking in the annals of indie film. But for today's purposes, NYEH ARTHOUSE!!!

Roger Corman's THE TOMB OF LIGEIA unspools in glorious 35mm as part of their trib to that most essential independent production house, American International Pictures! It's figurehead, the man most responsible for the introduction of the talent that would eventually create the New Hollywood of the 70's, one Mr. Roger Corman, will be in attendance to chew the fat about his little magnum opus, as well as the film's star Elizabeth Shepard. It'll be a hard ticket to snag, so get on that right away! And hey, if you're lucky the guy who brings his own mattress might say a word or two about the screening. No promises.

P. S. The warmer, fiercer cuddle of the sun's sunnier disposition has reached its zenith, but believe it or not some of our fellow NY'ers have still yet to be made whole in the wake of the 2012 storm.
